Year 2 Role-Play as Egg Box Dragon
In Literacy, the Year 2 children have had a fun and engaging session practising how to speak in the first person.
Using the story The Egg Box Dragon as inspiration, they took turns pretending to be the Egg Box Dragon himself, acting out parts of the story with great enthusiasm. When the teacher called "freeze" they paused and shared a sentence from the dragon's point of view, using "I" to express his thoughts or actions.
The children showed fantastic reflection when thinking about their use of the first person and were wonderfully supportive of one another, demonstrating great reciprocity throughout the activity.
