Pine class currently has forest school.
Please find below a leaflet that explains/reminds you of what Forest School is all about.
It is really important that the children have the correct clothing. If they are not dressed correctly and feel cold or wet, it is very uncomfortable for them and takes some of the enjoyment out of the sessions.
The children will need:
Waterproof coat (with a hood) – essential in all seasons
Jumper or fleece and Polo Shirt – for warmth in cold months
Base layer - if it's very cold an extra thin layer under your polo shirt.
Polo Shirt - in warmer months
Long trousers – preferably old or outdoor-specific - essential in all seasons
Waterproof trousers (especially in winter or muddy months)
Sturdy trainers, walking boots or wellies – depending on the weather/terrain
Thick socks (double socks if cold)
Hat, gloves and snood – in cold months
Sun hat, sunscreen & insect repellent – in warmer months
Please note that the boots, waterproofs and warm trousers will be kept in school until the five sessions are over.
Forest School sessions take place whatever the weather, so it is important the children are properly dressed, so that they can participate in and enjoy each session fully.
Many thanks for your continued support. We are sure your children are going to be looking forward to having the opportunity to participate in Forest School.
