The children in year two enjoyed their lunches at the cafe this week. They all polished off their delicious sandwiches and behaved impeccably. Well done!

Cherry Cooking: group 1.

This afternoon the children became 'Young Master Chefs' and made their very own fresh pasta from scratch!

Take a look at them in action...

The rest of the class will be doing their cooking tomorrow so keep an eye out for more photos...

Cherry clean out the Chicks!

The children have been getting busy already this morning helping Miss Estall clear out the chicks so their home stays fresh. Great reciprocity everybody!

All done!

Monday 8 June 2015

Look what arrived in Year 2 today.

We had a very special delivery today. 14 chickens eggs.  They are being kept warm in cedar at the moment in an incubator. Hopefully they will hatch by Thursday and we can share the chicks out between Cherry and Cedar. We are looking forward to meeting our chicks and naming them.
Parents are welcome to come and meet them once they have hatched.

Poetry week gets off to a flying start!

Children in Cherry class have already immersed themselves in poetry today. They have enjoyed reading a selection of a poems in addition to practising their learning challenge poem to perform to others, later in the week. Take a look at some of the children's comments...

Here is what Ramone thought of "The Kraken".

Daniel said he liked the rhyming words...

Lillie said she liked the Revolting Rhymes version of Cinderella because "it's funny, they chopped their head off!"

Mulberry's David Hockney Masterpieces

Mulberry have been starting this half term's learning challenge by learning about the artist David Hockney. The children used his landscape pictures as inspiration to create their own work.

Kaden Nicol used a range of pastels to create a colourful landscape and Aaliyah used a mixture of crayons and pastels to produce her picture of a forest.

Healthy eating week in Cherry.

We have loved being extra healthy this week in Cherry class. We began by keeping a food diary to analyse how healthy we were. We then made our own fruit smoothies (which were delicious) as well as, making an extra effort to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. To top it off we ensured our bodies were suitably exercised by completing a class running session; we pushed ourselves to our limits for sure! Well done to Yazmin, Courtney, Libby, Fabian, Ramone and Daniel who were the last children standing!

Nothing beats a game of 'Sleeping Lions' to cool down our bodies after our run.
