Year 2 Week 5 Learning
Literacy
In Literacy, we have been learning about a famous eco-warrior - Greta Thunberg. We used our research to create information leaflets.
Parents: Ask me why Greta Thunberg is a great eco-warrior.
Maths
In maths we have been finding one third of a number. We have been applying our knowledge of division to divide by three. We have been following the steps to success to solve problems:
1. Find the whole number
2. Divide by 3 (or share into 3 groups)
3. What is one third of the whole number?
Science
In Science, we conducted an experiment to test which paper was the strongest. We cut the paper into the same size strips to ensure that we conducted a fair test. We then added 100g weights to the bag until the paper tore to test which was the strongest.
Parents: Ask me what the results of the experiment were
Geography
In Geography, we have been learning the compass directions. We worked in pairs to follow directions to different places.
Outdoor Learning
Spring has finally sprung and we have some new arrivals in our pond - tadpoles! We have been very excited to be able to watch them hatch and observe them closely. We are looking forward to finding out a bit more about the lifecycle of a frog next week.
