World Book Day (week) in Year 2!

World Book Day (week) in Year 2!

This year, we haven't just celebrated World Book Day but instead have been celebrating our love of books for the whole week. We have enjoyed lots of different activities over the course of the week.

Steve Antony Webinar

First up, we were lucky enough to take part in a live webinar with children's author and illustrator Steve Antony. He read some of his stories to us including; Wash your hands Mr Panda and You Can! He also shared what it was like to be an author, how he found a love of drawing and some of his favourite books when he was our age. We really enjoyed hearing from a real life author and illustrator and will be reading some more of Steve's books in class.

Share A Story

Next, we partnered with some of the older children in the school to share our favourite stories. It was great to have some Year 5 children reading to us, we thought their reading was fantastic and we were completely engaged in their story telling. It was also great fun to read to Year 5, they helped us with any tricky words and talked about the stories with us.

Brilliant reciprocity demonstrated by everybody!

Book Swap
Lots of children brought in books that they no longer needed for our big book swap! The children were lucky enough to all be able to choose a new book to take home and devour.
