Rowan ....It's Tea Party Time!

Let the fun begin!

The time has finally arrived... BAKING TIME! The children have spent weeks researching, planning, and buying the ingredients to make their cake. Today was the turn of Archie, Hannah, Amelia and Indianna.

Yesterday morning the children entered the classroom excited to start the making the cake. They washed their hands and got their ingredients out ready to start. They used reciprocity and worked collaboratively and follow the recipe. They measured the amounts in grams using the scales and carefully cracked the eggs.

Last week the children each wrote a letter to our cook, Michelle and asked if they could use their oven to bake the cake. The letters we so good that Michelle agreed and the children were able to bake their cake!

Then it was time to decorate. The children chose to use buttercream icing in blue and green. Then came the topping. The children had complete ownership over the design and it looked AMAZING!

The parents arrived at 2:30pm ready to join their child for a tea party. They couldn't believe their eye! I am sure some of them thought the cake was shop bought!

We even had a visit from our award winnking chef, Michelle who gave it her seal of approval!

A great time was had by all and the children were very pleased with their achievement.

Well done everyone.... Roll on next Wednesday when the fun continues with our next set of budding bakers!
