Black History Month
As the month of October is Black History month (UK), the children have had the opportunity to celebrate by creating a variety of Kente designs using their weaving and decorating skills. In addition, they listened to black artists' music and performed a West African song called Che Che Kule. Their beautiful dancing steps and moves were an absolute joy to watch!

The children have been learning about Diwali this week. Year 1 has been looking at the story of Rama and Sita and why Hindus call this celebration the Festival of light. The children enjoyed completing a story map and making Diva lamps from clay.
The children in Year 1 have had a fantastic start to the year! We hope you all have a restful half term.
