Year 2 Learning- Week 6

 

We have been very busy in Year 2 this week, here are some of the highlights of our week! 

Literacy

This week in literacy our grammar focus was sentences. We worked hard to write sentences that were jumbled the correct way. We also wrote instructions on how to make a Egg Box Dragon for Year 1 students. We wrote what resources we will need and how we will construct an Egg Box Dragon. Our instructions were clear so that younger children could understand. Great work everyone!

Maths

This week in maths we looked at Place Value in different ways. We completed questions that asked numbers in place value charts, ordering numbers from largest to smallest, matching numerals with written words and drawing dienes to represent numbers. The children worked hard to problem solve during their activities. We have fabulous mathematicians in Year 2!

PSHE

This week we looked at positivity. The children looked at positive thinking and how they can change their mindset from negative to positive. We created positive thinking caps to help us remembered phrases that are positive including 'I am super', 'I can do this' and 'I am resilient'.

Making the perfect jam sandwich

This week, we have followed our instructions to make the perfect jam sandwich. The children enjoyed making these and they tasted delicious!

Our teeth

This week we were given everything we need to brush our teeth including instructions on how to do it, Colgate toothpaste and a tooth brush. We spoke about cleaning our teeth and how important it is to do so everyday. The children were very excited to use their new toothbrush and toothpaste!
