Year 1- What we are learning.

 

This week in literacy we recapped what we did over the half term. We used time adverbials to present our work in chronological order and tried our best to use our phonic sounds correctly.

In maths this week we were making equal groups, adding equal groups and for some identifying how we use groups to begin to multiply. For example, 2 groups of 10 is the same as 2 x 10= 20. Our key vocabulary was ‘equal’ and ‘unequal’. 

In History this term, we are focussing on the printing press and how the way we communicate has changed and evolved. To begin with, we allowed the children to explore different techniques to write their names. We had feathers with paint, stamps and ink, iPad (typing) and normal pens and paper. The children really enjoyed exploring and using the various techniques and it provoked a lot of inquisitive minds.
