E for Excellence

Apricot: Zach

Zach has been working hard on subtraction, using concrete objects and Mental math to find the answer. 

Beech:

Connie for her hard work in Maths this week. Connie used cubes to solve the subtraction sums. Well done Connie!

Walnut:Jason

For making great choices in the classroom and putting more effort into his work. Jason has made lots of progress in literacy and is able to think quickly when solving mathematical problems.

  Star Writers 

Apricot: Nathaniel

Nathaniel has worked hard with his presentation and spelling. He has been using more of his sound knowledge when writing unfamiliar words. 

Beech: Aditi 

Aditi wrote an amazing fact file all about snails. She included lots of facts about snails and remembered all of her sentence rules. Well done Aditi! 

 Walnut: Amerah

Amerah always takes pride in her writing ensuring she uses her sound mat and Fred fingers. Even when she is unsure, she tries her best to write independently before asking for help. Fantastic writing Amerah!

These are the key skills that our children will need to learn effectively in class and to be successful later in life. 

Reciprocity

These children have shown interdependence, collaborated effectively, listened to others, displayed empathy and have imitated effective  ideas and methods from others. 

Inaya

For taking charge of a small group of pupils and showing them helpful strategies on how to complete a puzzle about the seasons. Wonderful teamwork and leadership skills Inaya!

Reflectiveness 

These pupils have planned carefully, revised ideas, identified key features and can talk about their learning. 

Resilience

These children have demonstrated perseverance, managed distractions, noticed patterns and been absorbed in their tasks. 

Emily 

Emily has been showing perseverance with her writing. Trying hard to use more Set 2 sounds when writing unfamiliar words. 

Rebecca

Rebecca for her hard work with her reading and writing this week. Rebecca has been working hard to apply her sounds to her writing. Well done Rebecca! 

Resourcefulness   

These pupils have been curious about learning, made links between ideas, shown imagination, reasoned methodically and capitalised on resources.
