Year One- This week’s learning

We are back!!!

Week 3's Learning

It was wonderful to be back together this week. It was clear that the children had all missed each other and we had missed them! We spent the first day celebrating being back together and allowing the children to catch up with each other and and be together. 

They played together, built together and just talked to each other!

The children were given the time to spend with each other. Some chose to read together and others chose to build dens to hide away together.

Maths

This week we began looking at capacity and volume and what better way to to that than in the water tray.

Literacy 

This week's literacy was based on planning a Secret Party! The children wrote invitations to their friends, made lists of the items (balloons, bubbles, cake) and the games they wanted to play. Then, on Friday afternoon we had a PARTY!!! It was such good fun!

Science

It was science week this week and the children immersed themselves in lots of activities. They explored the environment looking for seasonal changed and observed reactions from experiments involving vinegar and bicarbonate of soda- the children loved it! 

Art

In art, the children were provided with the 3 primary colours and were able to create what they wanted. We love seeing what they come up with.

It was a fantastic week of learning and just being back together together again
