British Science Week
This week was British Science week so the children have been engaging in lots of science activities.
Poster competition
As this year's theme is innovation the children were tasked with designing their very own invention. We had so many creative ideas including 'butterfly wings to get you to the moon and back’ (Elkah, Apricot). The winner will be announced on Monday so stay tuned!
Experiments
The children have also been putting on their lab coats and doing some experiments. They have had such fun dressing up as scientists and working with the science equipment. Here are some pictures of the Year 1 scientists in action.
STEM Careers Talk
Finally, the children were super excited to watch a nurse and 2 doctors all talk about their careers and answer questions sent in from the children. They even got taught how to bandage with a t-shirt, very exciting!
Overall, the children had a brilliant week exploring and enjoying science. We are sure that they will continue to be curious and use their scientific skills throughout their school life and beyond!
