Year 1: What We Are Learning
Quote of the week, "Forest School is amazing!" said Abdul-Mateen.
This week our literacy focus book has been: Traction Man, by Mini Grey. The children have worked on making predictions about who Traction Man is along with having a go at narrating a comic strip style image using adjectives, capital letters and full stops.
The children have also been working hard in Science learning about seasonal changes and observing some of the autumnal changes around our school grounds.
In Forest School this week Beech class enjoyed their first session exploring how to use binoculars, magnifying glasses, reading seasonal books and enjoying juice and a biscuit to finish the session with a short game.
Year one staff are developing the outside provision and we wondered if any parents/ carers could donate any of the following items:
Pots/ pans for the mud kitchen (no glass)
Tarpaulin
Building materials (planks of wood- non splintering)
Gardening tools: forks/ spades/ chn sized gloves
Sand toys
