Year One Home Learning

Y6 Home Learning | Springfield Primary Academy

Quote of the Week

Good morning everyone,

We are so sad that we can't see you all face-to-face today, but we know these tough times will not last forever. So for now, we are here to support you on the phone, email and online.

Google Classroom

How to Create Your First Google Classroom - EdTechTeam

We will be using google classroom over the next two weeks. Please feel free to upload any work your child has done and we will comment on it.

You will receive an email with your Google Classroom log in details at some point on today. Please bear with us as Year 1 and 2 both access this mailbox which can sometimes cause a delay.

If by Tuesday morning you have not received this information, please email us at year12@broadford.havering.sch.uk with 'Google Classroom' in the subject heading. It may be that we have the incorrect email address for you. You don't need to wait for this email to begin the home learning, below is a link to the home learning timetable.

We currently have the children's spelling books in school, which have their Rockstar and Mathletics log in details on the front page. Therefore, we will email you round these details at the same time as google classroom.

Below is this week's home learning timetable. You can chose to follow it, or dip in and out as it suits you. Each day there will be a Maths, Literacy, PE, Topic and wellness session.

Please continue to practise the 2, 5 and 10 times tables daily and work on number bonds to 10.

Shape sorting
Can you go on a shape hunt around your house and find lots of 3D shapes? See if you can name the shapes and count how many edges, faces and vertices they have. Then, try to sort them in different ways. Here are some examples of how you could sort them;
  • Number of vertices
  • Number of edges
  • Number of faces
  • Can the shape roll?
  • Can the shape slide?

Final FS2 Phonics Workshop
It is really important that you start your day with a phonics session. Follow the links below for your video of the day!

Hall, Patti - 1st Grade / Reading

We cannot stress enough how important reading with your child each day is. We understand that with home learning, trying to fit everything in will be a challenging task in itself. Please can we ask that you prioritise reading every day, even if its just for 10 minutes. You can use Oxford Owl Ebooks for this. The link will be emailed in your password document.

Hilldene Library are also offering a click and collect service if you need any reading books.

We thank you for all your support and look forward to speaking to the children this week. We can't wait to see your work on Google classroom make sure you all log in! Remember we are an email away if you have any problems.
