Year 1 - Shapes and Letters!

Read on to find out what we've been up to in Year 1 last week!

Maths

This week in Maths we've been learning about 3D shapes. We've been sorting them based on their properties and learning their names. Here's some pictures of us sorting them by their faces, edges and vertices.

Literacy

In Literacy, we've been continuing with our story, Pattan's Pumpkin. We stepped into character as Pattan and wrote a letter from his point of view, deciding what to do to save all the animals from the flooding. We made sure to use our capital letters, finger spaces and full stops!

Geography

In Geography we've been learning about our place in the world. We've learn't that we live in Harold Hill, in London, in England, in the UK, in Europe, on planet Earth! We've also been learning the 7 continents and the 5 oceans through these fun songs! (Continents Song, Oceans Song)

Children in Need

We had a great time on Friday celebrating Children in Need. Here's some pictures from our lovely day.

Have a good week!
