Number Day In Year 2!

Wow! What a fun-filled, fantastic day Friday was! The children arrived to School dressed in all sorts of  Math themed clothing and were immersed in a variety of Maths activities. The children completed a carousell around 5 different classes whereby they completed different math focused activities.

In Cedar class, the focus was about time (hence Miss Estall's clock attire). The children had to predict and find out 'how many' different things they could do in different amounts of time including star jumps, hula hooping, squats, balancing on one leg and catching.

"I was so worn out after doing the star jumps! But I found out I can do 67 in a minute!"  Brooke Romerill

In Cherry class, the activities revolved around shape and number. The children played a game which was a twist on Musical statues! When the music stopped they had to make different shapes with their bodies, find a given amount of children and chant different times tables.

How many multi link cubes can you get into the bucket in 30 seconds?

How many squats can you do in 30 seconds?

How many times can you catch a beanbag in 1 minute?

Check out some of these outfits!

"It was really fun making different shapes with our bodies, hexagon was really hard!" Frankie Watson
