Year 1: What We Are Learning
Year 1 have been working really hard this week.
In Literacy this week the children have been using amazing adjectives to describe a setting from The Snail and The Whale. The children also worked in groups to write and perform a news report all about how the Whale became stuck on the beach.
The children have also been working hard in Read, Write,
Inc this week.
Please continue to read with your children and work on their Spellings with them. Please remember to sign your child's Reading Record Book.
In Maths this week the children have been working hard to partition two digit numbers into tens and ones using part whole models. They also filled in missing numbers on number lines with numbers up to fifty.
In Geography this week the children sorted pictures of places in Harold Hill into whether they were physical features or human features.
In Science the children created posters all about time for Science Week. They created posters based on time and how important time is and how it relates to our daily lives. The children took part in timed races as well as working hard to design some amazing posters!
In PE the children took part in parachute games. They had to try to remove the balls from the parachute and work as a team.
In RE the children revisited the the Easter story and then designed an Easter Egg.
