Year 1: What We Are Learning
Year 1 have been working really hard this week.
In Literacy this week the children have been writing newspaper articles and have also been writing questions to the Snail in The Snail and the Whale. Well done for your hard work in Literacy this week Year 1!
The children have also been working hard in Read, Write, Inc this week. Please continue to read with your children and work on their Spellings with them. Please remember to sign your child's Reading Record Book.
In Maths this week the children have been estimating where numbers should be on number lines and they have been solving one more and one less with numbers up to 50. Well done for your excellent effort in Maths this week Year 1!
In Geography this week the children correctly identified the weather from looking at the weather symbols. They then wrote the correct name for each weather symbol.
In Science the children planted their very own bulbs. They enjoyed putting the soil into their pot and adding their bulbs. They are looking forward to seeing them grow next week. Year 1 are also learning about the different types of trees such as evergreen and deciduous. They learnt that evergreen trees keep their leaves all year and that deciduous trees lose their leaves in the Autumn.
Apricot class had a great time at Forest School. They enjoyed exploring and learning outdoors.
In RE the children wrote Easter Cards.
Well done Year 1 for an amazing week - keep up all your brilliant work!
