Year 2 What We Are Learning

 Literacy

This week in Literacy,  we wrote our own non

chronological reports. We became experts

about three different animals. They were

Mongooses, African red billed hornbill and

Meerkats. We had to remember to add features

such as headings, pictures, present tense,

technical vocab and captions.

   Maths

This week, the children learnt to solve mass

problems involving the four operations of addition,

subtraction, multiplication and division. Next, they

measured in millilitres and litres. Finally, they

compared the volumes of different liquids.

RE

This week in RE, we have looked at the importance

of a mosque for Muslims and focused on key features

found in every mosque. Also, we looked at the special

wash called wudu that muslims carry out before

    entering a mosque.

                            Forest School

Pine class had their final session of forest school for Year 2 today, the weeks have flown by. There was time for games, drinking hot chocolate and roasting marshmallows with hot cross buns on the fire. Lots of children also made forest clay faces on the trees. Well done everyone.
