Year 2 Week 5 Learning

 Year 2 Week 5 Learning

Well done to all of Year 2 for completing their SAT's this week. They have all worked extremely hard to apply everything that they have learnt. The E for Excellence award has been awarded to Pine, Mulberry and Rowan class in recognition of their hard work and determination this week!

In the afternoons we have been participating in some fun activities based on our 4R's - reciprocity, resilience, reflectiveness and resourcefulness. Take a look at all the things we have been up to!

Science - Balloon Powered Cars
We worked in partners to build balloon powered cars. We made predictions about what would happen if we attached a balloon to the car and blew it up. We then tested them out and were amazed by the results! We found that blowing up balloons could be quite tricky but we showed great resilience in not giving up.

Teambuilding - Marble Runs
We worked in our house teams to build a working marble run. We earnt points for teamwork, creativity and resilience and recorded them in a tally chart as we went along. The team with the most points a the end won the challenge.

Art - Monet Inspired Bridge Paintings
We were inspired by Monet to  become artists this week! We used tape to create a bridge shape before finger painting a lake scene. We worked hard to carefully blend the colours before removing the tape to create the bridge.

Egg-citing visitors
We were lucky enough to have some ducklings to visit this week! Sally, one of our wonderful midday kindly assistants brought them to visit and we enjoyed observing them - they were extremely cute!
