Outside fun in year one!
This week, the children in year one have spent lots of time learning outside in our brand new outside area. They were very excited to see a building blocks delivery arrive and were keen to help unpack them. They showed great reciprocity skills in working together to set them up.
Woodwork has also been on the agenda this week. The children have been busy designing and creating their own models, drawing on the skills they learnt in Reception. Oliver made a fantastic ramp for his cars and showed great resourcefulness in testing and amending it until it was just right.
Callum used the lego to design a plane and set to work building it at the woodwork bench. Cars, helicopters and animals were also popular creations and the children showed great resilience in sticking with the task even when it became quite tricky!
Well done on your fantastic outdoor learning year one, our new outside area is looking better and better every day!
