National Literacy Day in Mulberry Class

As today is National Literacy Day, the children in Mulberry shared their favourite books with Hazel Class. The children took turns reading their books to each other and some of the younger children enjoyed the support from the older children who showed great reciprocity.

Yemi's favourite book is 'Mr Majelka on the internet' because there are good and bad characters and they try to get out of the computer.

Riley read his book to William and told him that 'Alien's in underpants save the world' is his favourite book because they sew their underpants together and save the world which he finds funny!

Emmanuel and Harry partnered up and Harry listened well as Emmanuel read 'Haunted House', it is his favourite because it has lots of creepy things and some random things happen too!

Did you know that approximately 775 million (64% of whom are women) are illiterate, meaning they lack the basic reading and writing skills to manage daily living and employment tasks?
