Literacy
As a follow up to last week’s egg box making
session, the children wrote a set of instructions
on how to make egg box dragons. They wrote a
comprehensive list of the resources needed to
make the dragons. Next they used imperative verbs
with adverbs of manners to make their instructions
clear and easy to follow. It was lovely to see the children
using Top Tips in their writing too. Well done Year 2.
Maths
This week Year 2 were able to subtract two digit numbers across
ten and not across ten. They completed mixed addition and
subtraction problems. They have shown their understanding of
addition and subtraction in their comparison number sentences
and missing number sentences. Also, they have completed their
end of unit assessment which marks the end of addition and
subtraction and they have done a great job. Well done Year 2!
The Tower of London Trip
This week we took a trip to the Tower of London.
We had great fun exploring. During the trip we saw t
he traitors gate, ravens and the queen's jewels!
We were able to meet the beefeaters and learn some
fantastic facts about what London used to be like!
Forest School
This morning Mulberry class enjoyed making music in
the sunshine. We began experimenting with musical
instruments and finding different ways to make the
sounds. These include scraping, tapping and shaking.
We then made our own woodland sounds and
instruments from sticks, leaves, stones and shells and
performed in our mini orchestras. Lots of fun was had by all.
