Year 1: What We Are Learning 

Year 1 have been working really hard this week.

 In Literacy this week the children have been writing instructions on how to make a cake. The children used time adverbials in their writing. Well done Year 1!

The children have also been working hard in Read, Write, Inc this week. Please continue to read with your children and work on their Spellings with them. Please remember to sign your child's Reading Record Book. 

In Maths this week the children have been learning all about money. They have been matching the coins to the correct amounts. Well done Year 1!

In Geography this week the children learnt all about the different weather symbols. They also learnt about the extreme weather symbols. They recorded what the different weather symbols mean.

In Science the children learnt about deciduous and evergreen trees. They decorated deciduous trees with different colour finger paints to represent how the trees look in the differernt seasons.

Well done Year 1 for an amazing week - keep up all your brilliant work!
