Literacy
Chocolate Planet
This week, pupils began reading the
Chocolate planet by Jon Blake.
They were able to discuss and make predictions
using clues from the title and the picture. Also,
they make changes to key events and characters
in the story using their imaginations as well as
describing the planet using interesting adjectives.
Maths
The children started their statistics unit this week .
They learnt about tallies, completing tables and
interpreting data in them. Additionally, they
used clues to complete block diagrams
and answered questions about them. Super effort!
Geography
This week in geography we have learnt about
the difference between a climate and a weather.
Pupils learnt about the different climates that exist
in the world and were able to identify and match
the climates to the right definition.
Forest School
Rowan class had a lovely sunny morning for forest school.
We were thinking about trees and looked carefully at
the different shapes of the trees, then made pictures
of them using items from nature.
We identified trees by their leaves and also worked out
the rough ages of the trees around the school site.
Well done to everyone.
Next week we all need to try and remember
king trousers to protect our legs.
