Year 1: What We Are Learning 

Year 1 have been working really hard this week. 

 In Literacy this week the children wrote a list of ingredients that they would need to make their cakes. They used amazing adjectives to describe their ingredients. The children all went on a shopping trip to Lidl to purchase the ingredients for their cakes. They selected and scanned their items at the checkout.

The children have also been working hard in Read, Write, Inc this week. Please continue to read with your children and work on their Spellings with them. Please remember to sign your child's Reading Record Book. 

In Maths this week the children worked well with their partners to partition 2 digit numbers into tens and ones. They also completed a worksheet where they partitioned 2 digit numbers into tens and ones. Well done Year 1!

In Geography this week the children discussed what the weather is usually like during the different seasons of the year in the UK. They drew pictures of what the weather is typically like in the UK in the Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.

In Science the children learnt about different types of flowers and matched the names of the flowers to the correct pictures.

In RE the children learnt about places of worship and correctly labelled the Mosque.

This week Year One also enjoyed a Skipping Workshop!

The children enjoyed getting artistic and made some amazing Father's Day cards for their best pops!
