Year 1: What We Are Learning

Year 1: What We Are Learning

Year 1 have been working really hard this week.

In Literacy this week the children have had an amazing time baking their very own cakes. They measured the ingredients and mixed it all together. They then decorated their cakes and enjoyed eating them altogether to celebrate their hard work throughout Year 1. They wrote a review of their cakes and described how baking their cakes went and described the cakes they made.

The children have also been working hard in Read, Write, Inc this week. Please continue to read with your children and work on their Spellings with them. Please remember to sign your child's Reading Record Book.

In Maths this week the children have been continuing to learn all about money. They learnt about the values of the different notes and were about to recognise and compare them.

In Geography this week the children learnt about extreme weather in the UK. They also learnt about extreme weather that can take place around the rest of the world.

In Science the children were able to recognise and label the parts of the bean plant correctly.

In RE the children labelled the Muslims Artefacts.

In PSHE the children had an RSPCC assembly and made a poster display on how to Speak Out and Stay Safe.

Well done Year 1 for an amazing week - keep up all your brilliant work!
