Year 2 Week 1 Learning

 We have reached the end of another fun filled week in Year 2. Take a look at what we have been up to this week.

Literacy

This half term, we are becoming eco-warriors and learning all about our environment. We will be looking at '10 things I can do to help my world' by Melanie Walsh and thinking about the ways that we can protect our world. We started off this week by considering what we can do at home, in school and in our community.

Maths

In maths, we are beginning to apply our multiplication knowledge to solve division problems. We have started by thinking about equal groups and sharing objects. We have enjoyed using our concrete resources such as multilink cubes and counters to practise sharing. This will support us next week as we begin to read division number sentences and word problems. Keep up your hard work at home practising your 2,3,5 and 10 times tables to help with this!

RE

We have started to learn about Islam in RE. We learnt about prophets and listened to some stories that taught us how to look after creatures on our earth. We all became actors and actresses as we acted out the story to our class.
