RE
This half term in RE we are learning about influential
religious figures. This week we learnt about
a Muslim Imam (Watch video here). The Muslim
Imam leads daily prayers, teaches people about
the Quran (the Muslim holy book) and the
life of the Prophet Mohammed, officiates at
weddings and funerals, and develops and
oversees youth programs at their mosque. Our
task was to recall what the Imam does
in their day and write it in order.
Literacy
The children have been very busy designing and making their own egg box dragons this week. They created colourful egg box dragons with different personalities. While some were dangerous fire-breathing dragons, others had mellow personalities.
Maths
Year 2 continued focusing on addition and subtraction. This week we have concentrated on adding by making 10 and adding three 1 digit numbers together as well as adding and subtracting 1s. They have used previous knowledge to solve addition and subtraction problems.
