Year 2 Sculpture Workshop

On Thursday 13th February, the children in Year 2 were given the opportunity to work alongside the sculpture Darcy Turner to create a boat made entirely from newspapers!

The children had an amazing day, with each class spending an hour with Darcy to make the rods and attach them together to create a stunning sculpture of a boat, which enhanced our Christopher Columbus topic.

The children have since been using their imaginations to go on amazing voyages in their new paper boat, which is situated in the Year 2 outdoor area.

Starla - You have to roll the newspaper in the special machine.
Chloe - We are going to make a big boat like Christopher Columbus.
Tele - You can make the paper really hard so that you can make things.
