This week at Forest School, our theme was Animals in Nature. The children eagerly shared animals they might find in the wild in England, including rabbits, squirrels and foxes.
One of the activities on offer involved using clay and natural materials, such as leaves and sticks, to create woodland creatures. The children produced a wonderful range of animals, including a bird and a deer.
Many of the children also enjoyed making bird feeders by threading Cheerios onto pipe cleaners.
I brought along a number of soft toy birds, including a blackbird, a chaffinch and a pigeon. The children were encouraged to make nests for these birds using natural materials they could find on the ground around them.
Finally, the children enjoyed a drink and a biscuit before making their way back to class.
