Year 2 What We Are Learning

 

RE

The children learnt about what the Bible teaches about God

this week. Thereafter, they drew their impression of God

and wrote captions to explain their understanding of God.

                           Literacy

  This week, pupils were able to read the  Lost and Found

book again to plan a sequence. Then they used their

plans to retell the  whole story using descriptive language. 

. 

                                             Maths

This week in math we started learning multiplication.

We learnt that multiplication means ‘lots of,

groups of and times’. We learnt how to recognise

equal groups, make equal groups and add equal groups. We

also counted in 2, 5 and 10s. Use the Splat Square to

continue practicing your counting. 

Forest School

Rowan class had a musical morning in the sunshine today. We experimented with ways to make sounds and found our own ways to make sounds using items found at forest school. We conducted orchestras and then wrote our own music which we also performed. We made sounds by scrapping, tapping items like sticks and rocks and we also scrunched leaves. Great experimenting from all the children.
