What We Are Learning

 

Science

This half term the children are learning about animals

including humans.

 In their first lesson, they learnt that animals, including

humans, have offspring which grow into adults. They

then drew pictures of an animal of their choice showing

how they change as they grow older. Thereafter,

they wrote a sentence to explain the difference between

the baby and adult animal. 

                           Literacy

This week in Literacy we started reading Lost and

Found by Oliver Jeffers. Listen here- Lost and Found.

We imagined we were in Antarctica. We listened to

soundscapes and looked at videos. We then used our

5 senses to write a descriptive piece as if we were in Antarctica. 

Maths

This week in math we learnt about money. We

were able to recognise coins, Count pounds and

pence, make the same amounts, make a pound and

learn to calculate money in order to buy objects. We

have done a variety of tasks including using

money and pretending to buy toys!
