Science
This week in Science we explored absorbency. We drew a line on different materials including school paper towel, normal paper towel and disposable cloth and timed how long it would take for the water to reach the line. The disposable cloth would definitely help us best if we spilt anything.
In Maths, the pupils have looked at ordering and comparing numbers using greater than, less than and equal to signs. Also, they have counted in 2s, 5s and 10s, forwards and backwards.
Literacy
The children had the opportunity to write a diary entry in the role of one of the characters in their focus text, Vlad and The Great Fire of London. They wrote in the past tense and used amazing adjectives to engage their audience.
Forest School
Pine class were busy experimenting with music. We played instruments to work out how they make a sound and then we made our own woodland sounds. We shook leaves, scraped sticks together, tapped stones on each other or other items to make a variety of sounds. We performed in mini woodland orchestras and then we wrote our own compositions using woodland notation. It was fantastic to see the children listen and respond to each other throughout the session. Well done Pine class.
