Literacy
This week, the children became reporters and travelled
back to 1666 when the Great Fire of London happened.
They thought abou the events and eyewitness accounts.
Next, they discussed and planned their newspaper reports
using the appropriate features including the 5Ws (Who?
Where? What? When? And Why?). Next week,
they will be writing their reports. Watch this space!
History
This week in history we learnt about changes made to
London after the Great Fire of London.
We found out that King Charles II ordered churches,
St. Paul's cathedral and houses to be rebuilt.
He was smart about this as different materials were used
so they would not catch on fire as easily.
We wrote ways in which London changed for the better.
Math
This week, the pupils have ordered objects
and numbers and they have moved onto addition
and subtraction. The pupils have focused on number
bonds and fact families to identify patterns in addition
equations as well as using that knowledge to figure
out any missing sums.
