'Tell Me a Dragon' Year 2

Early Monday morning Year 2 found mystery boxes hidden in their classrooms. Each box contained some strange items including what looked like a magical egg. The children closely examined the clues, made predictions about what the items could be and described each clue. After reporting our findings to the Zoo we were shocked to discover they had never seen an egg like this before, the closest match they could find was an ancient dragon egg. We were advised to be very careful and begin studying dragons to find out more about these mystical creatures. We read a beautiful story book called Tell me a Dragon to begin our discussions and thought about what might appear when the egg starts to hatch!
