Paying Tribute to Stephen Hawking in Year 2

Paying Tribute to Stephen Hawking

Yesterday, the world of science lost a brilliant mind. In the spirit of Science Week, we decided to learn a bit about Stephen Hawking.

The children discussed how he showed incredible resilience, and never stopped trying. They also learned a bit about how Stephen Hawking helped us understand more about black holes.

The class showed great compassion and understanding as they discussed what they might do if they had to try and overcome the barriers of a difficult disease, and as they talked about how technology can help us.

“Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don’t just give up.” - Stephen Hawking
