The children in Year 2 were learning all about Lent this afternoon. They were told the story of Jesus in the desert, the reason for pancake day and the reason for Lent. The children were then able to taste the delights of a pancake with various toppings.
By the end of the session the children understood the significance of Pancake Day and its resemblance in relation to Christianity. They all decided what they were going to give up for Lent and could explain why Christians celebrate Lent.
I'm going to give up chocolate, because I eat it all the time. Kiera T
