Cedar and Cherry Class have enjoyed making 'Sail Cars' for Science week. The children showed fantastic skills of reciprocity when assembling their cars. Attaching the wheels was the trickiest part of the build. Some chose to use masking tape, others chose modelling clay and some tried elastic bands.
Once we had built our sail cars we used wind power to make them move. Unfortunately as we did not have any wind inside we had to make our own wind by blowing down a straw into the sail.
In Cedar Class the winning sail car was Ellie's with Rokas's coming a close second. We found out that wooden wheels were the best for moving the sail cars. Whereas, cardboard wheels did not help the sail car to move at all.
