Year 1- What we are learning. Week 2

 

In literacy this week, we have been looking at Suffixes in particular, ‘ing’. We add ‘ing’ to verbs to make them present tense. We know that present tense means it’s happening right now! For example, we are walking to school.  

 

In maths this week we looked at near doubles. For example, 4 + 5 = 4 + 4= 8 + 1 = 9.  We also looked at near doubles in word problems. 

In Science this week, we have been looking at how we can help our planet. In particular we looked at what it means to recycle and reuse. We investigated what materials we can recycle and how we can reuse them. 

Next week is Science week! Please bring in any spare plastic bottles.
