It's been a very blustery week this week, but the children have blown into action with there learning. They have been working hard on new topics and subjects that they may have never seen before.
A big Thank you to all the parents that continue to read and learn spellings at home with the children. It makes a huge difference when Teachers and adults can work together for the children.
This week we have had lots of fun with different actives and special event. The children had a brilliant time celebrating Children in Need day with activities and spotty clothes.
Children have also attended a special assembly this week for Anti- Bullying week. Which also got cement rated by wearing odd socks. All children were asked to sign a special contract to help them understand how and what we can do to stop Bullying and to know what the word really means.
Maths
This week in maths children have been learning addition word problems. They were asked to find the relevant numbers in the question and add the numbers together.
Literacy
In literacy this week, year 1 have been asked to complete a “role on the wall”. Using post it notes children wrote adjectives to describe what the Panther is like. For example: scared, mad, annoying and resilient.
Science
Continuing with our animals topic children had to mane the different parts of a cat, from the pointy ears to the fluffy tall.
Geography
The children have been finding their place in the world this week. Year 1 have been zooming in to where they live, starting with the Earth, continent, country and Area. They enjoyed looking at Google Earth to try and find the school. Maybe try it at home?
