Black History Month

We have been learning about Black History, which is celebrated each year in October. It is a chance to celebrate the achievements  of Black people in the past and present. The children have been learning about important Black people and the impact they have had on our society.

Did you know?

In the USA, Black History Month is celebrated in February each year!

Year One had a wonderful time celebrating Black History Month. This week we have been studying famous Black artists and we created work inspired by Alma Woodsey Thomas.

Next term, we will be starting our new Geography unit, focusing on the world and understanding geographical similarities and differences between the UK and India.

Forest School

Next term, Beech class will be participating in Forest School. Please ensure the children have warm clothes: long sleeved tops and jumpers and tracksuit bottoms or leggings.

Have a fantastic half term Year One!
