  Year 2 - Week Six Learning

We have been very busy in Year 2 this week, here are some of the highlights of our week! 

Egg Box Dragons

Last week, the children worked hard to design and make their own Egg Box Dragons based on the book 'The adventures of Egg Box Dragon'. Take a look at some of the final products!

Literacy 

This week in literacy, we have been writing our instructions on 'how to make an egg box dragon'. The children thought carefully about the steps they took to make their egg box

dragons last week and remembered to use adverbs of time and adverbs of manner!

On Friday, the children took their instructions to Year 1 so that they could make their very own egg box dragons in their art areas! 

In their self-led learning time, the children have also been writing letters to Year 1 to tell them how to look after their egg box dragons. They thought about what they ate, when they went to bed and warned them of any mischievous behaviour to look out for!

 

Maths

In maths, the children have been practicing their number bonds to 10 and applying them to find number bonds to 20. They have been using part-whole models to write the fact families.

PSHE

This week the children have been wearing their positivity caps! We discussed what it means to have a positive attitude as a class and thought about how this impacts our learning. We designed our own positivity caps
