Year 1: What We Are Learning 

Year 1 have been working really hard this week. 

 In Literacy this week the children wrote sentences explaining why it is harmful to drop litter. They also worked in groups to make a presentation on what we can do to save the planet.

The children have also been working hard in Read, Write, Inc this week. Please continue to read with your children and work on their Spellings with them. Please remember to sign your child's Reading Record Book. 

In Maths this week the children used a range of resources to make equal groups and they also made arrays.

In History this week the children explored how things have changed from paper to digital. They wrote their names in different ways using paper and pen, feathers and paint, stamps and ink and also typed their names using the iPads.

In Science the children wrote about the similarities and differences of different animals.

In PE the children worked on their ball skills.

In PSHE the children learnt about the different foods they need to eat to stay healthy and made their very own fruit faces!
