The last week of this term has been a busy one for the Year 1 children. Not only have they been practising their Phonics but they have also been completing Math assessments. The children have completed a reasoning and arithmetic paper. They all worked really hard to complete them and it was a great indicator of how much the children have learnt so far this year.
We hope that you all have a lovely and restful week off. Please keep reading with your children at home and practising the Phonic sounds as much as possible.
Have a great break and we will see you all back on 6-5-23
Literacy
This week children have created their own flip page for the book we have been reading. The all had great understanding of how we need to keep the world clean. We had some fantastic pictures with lots of colour and detail.
Maths
Children have worked super hard on Math assessments this week. They tried their best on a reasoning paper and arithmetic.
Science
Children have been continuing this week learning about different items and how they can be recycled. The children were asked to put different pictures in areas of how they can recycled. For example the children know that old food/fruit peels belong in the compost bin.
Skipping Fun
Year 1 had a lovely treat this week. We had Lizzie come to teach the children how to skip. They were taught how to hold the skipping rope and how to listen for the beat. Year 1 also played some games whilst jumping. Luckily none of the children were eaten by the crocodile!
