Chocolate Planet in Year 2!

 

The children in Year 2 have been very excited to start their 'Chocolate Planet' topic this week. We have been reading the story 'Chocolate Planet' which tells the adventures of Gala and Frag who are fed up with boring Planet Um and travel to another planet in search of the chocolate mines.

This story inspired us to think about our own love of chocolate! We will be thinking about all things chocolate this half term including designing packaging, writing instructions, making adverts, measuring ingredients, learning about healthy eating and exercise and last but not least - making our very own chocolates!

Week 1 saw the children work hard to write persuasive letters to Mrs Nicholls to convince her that our chocolate project should go ahead! The children used fantastic vocabulary and very persuasive language which Mrs Nicholls found it hard to say no to! She was very impressed with their efforts.

The children then got to work considering the type of chocolate they want to make. They looked at various chocolate packaging and decided on the name, style of writing and packaging designs.
