Phonics at Home EYFS/KS1

Every school morning in  KS1 and EYFS we start our day by learning or revising a sound. It is a really important skill for learning to read and we would really like to ensure the children continue with learning a sound a day. We know teaching phonics can be tricky if you haven’t used this method before so we have tried to make this as easy as possible and have a video for every day. Just find your group in the tables below, click on the link and your video will be ready to start. All you need is a pen/pencil and paper ready to complete your spellings! We have seen some great examples on google classroom and evidence me already so make sure you continue to share your work.

You can access books that your child can read online on Oxford Owl Ebooks. You do need to make an account to view the stories but they are free once logged in. They are a great way to continue to access books that match the children’s phonics levels. Once you are logged in you can sort by series, sort by Read,Write, Inc and then you will find books that match your child’s reading colour. Usually children will be able to tell you what colour books they are reading and who their read write inc teacher is but if you have any questions please email!

Enjoy learning your new sound today!
