In Cherry class we all have a growth mind-set. We know that if we want to get better we need to make mistakes, we need to identify weaknesses as well as strengths and we know that challenge is a good thing. We reach for the stars and know that we can all achieve great things if we put the work in...
That is why we set ourselves targets and work relentlessly to meet them. Last term we chose our Autumn target and displayed them in the class so that we could support eachother in achieving them. This week, we reviewed our targets ready for the new term. We reflected on our developments and assessed whether or not we can move on to a new target. It was great to see that all of the children were able to prove they had met at least one of their targets (if not both) and have now thought of their next!
Take a look at some of our success stories!
The children were asked to provide evidence towards their target:
Hollie wanted to learn to divide and proved she is now able to answer a number of division calculations independently.
Tyler breezed through his target, he needed to count in tens. He did this all the way up to 260 with ease.
Dorrie's target was to ensure her finger spaces were a reasonable size and to count in threes. She can now do both.
Paris has been working on spelling red words and counting in threes, once again she managed both!
Kara demonstrated that she can now confidently count in steps of 5 as well as starting to join her letters.
George's target was to get to rock stars 5 by Christmas. He has proven he has smashed his target by completing the sheet in under 4 minutes!
Bobby can now count in steps of 2 beyond 14 and is joining his letters after a week of voluntary continuous practise as he knew target day was looming.
Amandeep chose to work on her 9s; amazingly she can now count in steps of 9 after working on her target in her independent time!
