The children looked carefully at the body parts of the lobsters and came up with some great questions and comments. We learnt that the lobster has swimmerets under his body that help him to swim, that they have one larger claw called the crusher claw, that they have antennae that help them to sense food in the water or nearby predators and lots more!

Lobster Investigtion
Throughout our dinosaur topic we are learning how to sort and classify animals. Although we haven't yet managed to provide some real dinosaurs Pine class had lots of fun investigating lobsters and crabs as a science focus today. Did you know that fossil records have shown that lobsters have have existed since the Cretaceous period when dinosaurs also roamed the earth!
