Cookery fun

Cedar class have become fantastic bakers. Luckily our cook Mandy always remembers to turn off the oven, unlike Thomas Farriner the King's baker.

We have carefully measured out the ingredients needed to make sponge cakes and bread. This has helped us to remember the different units of measure we use for weight, and has also helped with the reading of a scale.

Our understanding of science has also been enhanced. We have learnt that once the different materials have been changed by the heat, they cannot be reversed back to how they were before. We did not mind because we enjoyed eating our cake and bread rolls.

We also used the experience of making our sponge cakes to write instructions during our Big Writing sessions. We tried hard to use technical words like cream, fold and beat.
